Khwai Private Reserve

Wild Dog populations across Africa are threatened by diseases transferred from domestic dogs. We support the regular vaccination of domestic dogs around the Okavango Delta to prevent a disease outbreak in the Wild Dog population. Such an outbreak could wipe out the wild dog population of the area. The vaccination included Adenovirus, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza. This takes place in Khwai Village (as well as other villages in the area including Shorobe, Mamabe and Sankuyo). The vaccinations are administered by the Maun Animal Welfare Society (MAWS) along with Botswana Predator Conservation (BPC). For more information about this vaccination drive from the BPC see here.
