Mmogo Centres for Women

“Mmogo” means “together” in Setswana, reflecting the collaborative spirit behind the Mmogo Centres for Community Development. In Moreomaoto and Khwai Villages, these centres provide shared spaces where women, including basket makers, jewellery makers and other artisans, can develop their skills, learn from one another and earn income from their work. Our support helps provide equipment, materials, training and access to markets, creating greater opportunities for women to grow their skills, develop their products and generate sustainable income. By connecting local artisans with wider markets, the centres help turn traditional skills and locally made crafts into viable livelihood opportunities. The programme demonstrates how locally led enterprise can connect conservation-based tourism with practical, lasting benefits for the people living alongside wildlife.
